Cinnamon is a spice obtained from the inner bark of certain special trees. It is of a golden-yellow colour, with the characteristic odour of cinnamon and a very hot aromatic taste.

Cinnamon is available in many varieties. However, the two major types of cinnamon are:

  1. Ceylon (true cinnamon): is the original type of cinnamon that was being traded in 400 years ago. Primarily grown in the Indian subcontinent and mainly Sri Lanka

  2. Cassia: is the second kind of cinnamon grown mainly n Indonesia hence, called Indonesian cinnamon.

Cinnamon is also commonly exported in the form of a powder.

Packing and markings shall be as per buyers' requirement.

A single 20 ft. container carries approximately 9 - 10 tons of cinnamon.

Due to the presence of cinnamic compounds, cinnamon, as it ages, grows darker due to the process of oxidation. Hence, it is advisable to store cinnamon in air tight containers away from light.
